I went outside this morning to check on my little Mt. Vernon Red Maple tree since the buds looked like they were about to pop the other day. Well not only did they open but there was a big fat bumblebee gorging himself on the blossoms and all speckled with pollen. Unfortunately he was in the upper part of the tree so I wasn't able to get as close as I would have liked but that's probably a good thing as he did get annoyed with me a couple times. I'll have to keep an eye on that tree and see if I can get a little closer next time.
