This was one of the BEST days ever! I was on my way to pick up the grand kids at the bus stop this afternoon and took the gravel road for some reason. I saw something move out of the corner of my eye and DAMN, it was a Snowy Owl. This has been on my photo bucket list forever but I never really expected to ever see one, especially this close to home. Anyway, I had the wrong lens on my camera, quick changed to the big one and tried to shoot a few but he was WAY far out. Looked at my watch and I was late to pick up the kids so flew to the bus stop. Picked up Joey & Katie and headed back never expecting him to still be there but HE WAS! OMG, the kids looked at me like I was crazy. Oh well, Joey & I got out and walked towards the owl stopping to snap a few pictures every few feet since I didn't expect him to stay stitting on that post but we walked a long way out into the field before he finally flew off. Not a great picture but I am just SO thrilled to have crossed paths with this beautiful bird!
@lynnz@harbie@blueberry1222@overalvandaan@chard@timandelke Thank you all for sharing in my excitement over the Snowy Owl encounter...I'm almost embarrassed by how excited I got over seeing him! But you guys are photographers so you get it! :)
