Harlequin ladybird by busylady

Harlequin ladybird

I found this little creature resting on a parsnip leaf (from one of last year's parsnips) at the allotment. I checked on the internet and found it to be a Harlequin. Should I have destroyed it, as I've heard they're pretty destructive?
It's so pretty against the parsnips! We call them Asian beetles here and they are quite annoying.

It looks like a lady bug in reverse. Nice shot!
