seedhead by busylady

seedhead

This is the seedhead of the purple salsify flower (also known as goatsbeard) which I posted on June 10th. I've been watching and waiting patiently but didn't realise it would take so long to develop! It grows on a local meadow where we take Betty for a walk. I'm hoping to be able to grow some of the seeds and spread the joy for others to enjoy. Click on this link to see the flower.

Great shot and framing Judith, hope the seeds germinate, it would be great to be able to spread them around.

@cookie123 Yes it's a wild flower.

I had no idea the flower became this beautiful seedhead. A nice idea to show the progression.

very cool pic, interesting stuff. The common name of goats beard is a totally different plant around here ... a large plant, more bush like, Aruncus.
The google images show both types of plants.
