The ruined house at Cowdray Park

The wedding we went to yesterday was beside the ruins of this house owned by Lord Cowdray. It was partially destroyed by fire in 1793 and was left until recent times in a state too dangerous to visit. A major 21st century restoration project has seen it restored to a stable condition and visitors are now welcome. After the meal and speeches I was too late to catch the sunset behind the house. Another time perhaps!
well you may have missed the sunset judith but the light is lovely here and really works well

That is some ruin , what a shame to let it get like that! Wonderful for the wedding photos though!

Wow neat place. The sun coming thru those top windows would be cool if you do a sunset sometime. Can't wait to see it when you do.

Quite incredible that the city I live in didn't even exist at the time of the fire, let alone the time that the place was built.
