....made of ticky tacky. Do you remember the old song? It was about those houses that were hastily built, (in the 60's?) and didn't last very long. Well hopefully this little box will last a bit longer. It was my patchwork day today and I spent the day learning how to make this little box. It's made of hand-dyed fabric bonded onto paper and folded into a box shape. We used little beads, ribbon, wool and thread to decorate the top.
Of course & there it goes running through my head!!!
A perfectly decorated box anyone would be glad to own...well done Judith. Nice to see you haven't disappeared by the way!!!
@happypat Oh I just can't resist taking a peek - I'm surprised at how much I miss it. I'm so pleased your all still there, and it's taught me that I don't have to beat myself up trying to post every day.
wonderful shot of this beaut of a box ~ i learned to make a box like this, albeit a bit less decorated, at the school just before Christmas ~ they held a language and play event for parents and of course grannies :-) to which I dutifully attended
Really pretty - did you dye it yourself? I'm humming that song now! Are you still in Cambridge on Thurs? I think @katharinehubbard can join us if at 11ish. Does that time work for you? Is there a place that's easier for you?
Oh yes! I remember that song......I also collect little boxes of all kinds, I just can't seem to through pretty boxes away!! this box is beautiful Judith.
