From the train window

We travelled by train from Cairo to Luxor today.
A nine hour journey which took 11 hours! This scene is typical of what we see from the train. This shows the tail end of the market. There are many dilapidated buildings also along the sides of the tracks, as well as huge areas of very neat cultivation of crops.
Sad looking

I think there is a fair amount of deprivation & poverty.

A bit of clearing up there methinks! Train lines often run at the backs if houses…not always the prettiest areas!

So sad !

The contrasts are very striking. I remember a guy with a donkey and cart, travelling along a fairly busy road while texting/ using his mobile phone!!

A great street capture and scene, albeit a tad sad.

I would find it very confronting IRL. So very sad that people have to live like this.

Great to see these different cultures and cities through your camera lens!
