Brass rubbing!

I've been cleaning out the conservatory today and decided to clean up these brass lamps. I can't remember the last time they were cleaned, but then there's more to life than cleaning the brass! What must it have been like in the old days? Polishing the silver, blacking the stove, no wonder they had servants!
