Are you singing it yet? It was a perfect day for the open day at Madingley Hall today. They had open house and gardens and free lectures if you wanted to be a bit academic. This was taken in the beautiful grounds of the hall, so while Peter was taking in a lecture I did my own photo walk around the lake and through the woods. I also had a conducted tour of the gardens by the deputy head gardener and went to several lectures, including one by Goerita Harriett, a botanical artist who works for the Cambridge botanical gardens and also for Kew gardens. Coffee, tea, lunch and cake was laid on, so a very enjoyable day.
