London to Brighton Car Run by busylady

London to Brighton Car Run

I had a go at panning while we were watching the famous London to Brighton Car Run. Not perfectly focused, but this is the best of a few I took. The event takes place on the first Sunday in November and starts at sunrise from Hyde Park in London. The veteran cars which take part must have been built before 1905 and while it is not considered a race, any cars which finish before 4.30pm are awarded a medal. Cars are not permitted to exceed an average speed of 20mph (32kph) It is the longest running motoring event in the world as the first one took place in 1896. It is quite an occasion and many people dress up for the event.
Such a wonderful old car. It must be as much fun to watch as take part.
