I bumped into George at the allotments this morning and he invited me to look at his dahlias. They are just magnificent and when he said I could help myself to an armful, I did just that. (I'll post a pic of them tomorrow.) He's well into his 80's now and still manages to look after his plot. despite breaking his leg a couple of years ago. It took him a while to get back on his feet again so it was good to see him again today and enjoying his gardening.
The dahlias are obviously keeping him young at heart and active. What a great hobby and such an fantastic display. Congratulations to him and I'm sure you're going to enjoy the ones you've taken home.
What a wonderful allotment! Usually allotments mean vegetables so it's so good to see so many flowers here, just like a proper garden with a lawn. Good for George!
A beautiful allotment. I thought the same as Pat, allotments to me usually mean vegetable plots but it is so nice to see a nice floral garden. George has very green fingers.
