Belsay Castle by busylady

Belsay Castle

We called in here on the way home on Saturday. The castle is now managed by English Heritage but was built about 1370 by the Middleton family who still own the estate. The quarry gardens and the hall are also worth a visit, although due to the recent storms, not all of the gardens are open to the public.
Two good things, a mostly sunny day, and a good meet up with two friends from the tennis club for a catch up over coffee. Sadly it looks like I may not be returning to tennis at all due to my ankle injury last year.
Beautifully composed capture, I love these old castles. So sorry re your tennis, I suppose there comes a time where we all have to give up things we loved doing. I am in the same boat but for different reasons.
