Murals in Oberammagau by busylady

Murals in Oberammagau

I wasn't able to take a picture of the Passion play performance as cameras and photography were banned. The play which tells the story of the crucifixion, has been running every 10 years since 1631, when the plague was brought in to the village of Oberammergau. The local people really get behind the performance, which has a huge cast of both choir and actors. There were two parts each lasting 2.5 hours, with dinner at a local host in between. It was a most captivating and memorable performance.
The murals on these houses have been common in Bavaria since the 1700's and often depict religious scenes.
Lovely capture

So pretty…. Sounds like you’ve had a wonderful time there & of course the historic Passion play as the main reason to visit.
