We've lived in our home for over 20 years and ours was one of the first ones built on our street. We've seen a lot of neighbors come and go over the years, watched kids grow up and move away. It's been a nice neighborhood to raise our kids. Our backyard backs up to a small creek, just deep enough for the kids to wade through to see what they can find. One summer I watched a group of young boys work for days, trying to tie this rope (I hope you can see it centered) from a tree. After they finally secured the rope I watched them take turns swinging on it and falling into the creek (it must have been a little deeper back then) over and over again. The rope provided weeks of fun until the fascination wore off and I guess they moved on to something else. I never saw anyone swing on it again. Funny how it caught my eye tonight and brought back those fond memories.
What a great story. I love this composition, too, and the promise of summer fun. We, too, have lived in our house that long and watched the kids grow up.
Loved your story and I saw the rope right away. What a special reminder of childhood times. I love your private background and all the lush greenery. Kentucky has always been one of my favorite states. Another beautiful photo, Cindy!
