My favourite squabbling, chatterboxes, having a rest between arguments. Taken this afternoon down on Redcar seafront. The light caught their petrol plumage showing how colourful they can be. The temps today were 16c so much better than of late.
Nice on black
Thank you for all your comments and favs all are very much appreciated
Love these cheeky little starlings -- they look so grumpy in their conversation ! - sorry to hear you have a delay of another week in your cast . -- but you will get there Margaret !
@gq
They are called Starlings and they gather in huge clouds to roost and just before they settle they make the most beautiful patterns and dance in the evening sky. It's called a mummer and is worth watching if you can find it on the net. People go out with binoculars to watch the spectacle.
@craftymeg
oh yes, i have seen them do that before. I guess I have not ever seen the baby birds though
the mummeration is beautiful to see.
I think I took a photo of a starling yesterday too and the light hit the colours just right.
thanks for explaining.
