The Mary Rose by craftymeg

The Mary Rose

This is the Mary Rose which was Henry Vlll flag ship. She sunk in the 1500s and lay in the silt until she was brought up to the surface in 1982, she now resides in a purpose built museum along with all the artefacts they found on and around her, this included skeletons of the sailors and the ships dog!. She is the only ship of her age that survives in the world today. Only one side of her that was buried in the silt survived. It makes for fascinating reading and a real snapshot into the life of the navy in those times.
Nice on black
The photos are dark because the light is low and no flash photography was used.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and favs all are appreciated and welcome.

I remember watching this boat being brought up to the surface, on the TV not in person, unfortunately. Good shot.
