Longbows Arrows and the only surviving longbow string

These longbows and arrows were fascinating, you would not think they had been under the silt for nearly 500 years!! The only surviving bow string made out of hemp is on display near the arrows in the middle of the shot, apparently there were over 800 recovered but this one is the only one that could be verified as a bow string. There is more information on the Mary Rose on line.

I had to back to the previous shot because I realised I had missed something. This museum would be a favoured place for me to visit. Amazing how this bow and the arrows look as good as new. Thanks for sharing.
