When we visited the Yorkshire Dales the other day we went to Pateley Bridge where the oldest sweetshop in England is, it was established in 1827 and is a family owned business, verified in the 2014 Guinness Book of Records. and you can buy all those retro sweets that have disappeared from everyday life. This is just a small selection of the row upon row of bottles they have. Now all I need to ask is Have you seen any that you fancy?
Nice on black
Thank you for all your lovely comments and favs all are appreciated and welcome.
Brought back memories of childhood when my Mum owned a corner shop. We had sweets in jars just like this. I remember lots of them. Pear Drops were my Nanna's favourite and I loved Rhubarb and Custard and Kali. I went off Nuttall's Mintoes when I swallowed one whole and it stuck in my throat for hours.
