This is a medieval packhorse bridge built in the 13th century and restored in 1874 it provided access from Guisborough and Baysdale to the Royal forest of Pickering. It spans the river Esk in Westerdale and still in good repair but now stands grassed over as a reminder of an age gone by.

When I see structures like this I wonder who built them, and if the relatives of the builder know about it. This is a lovely shot of the bridge, I think they were called "packhorse bridges". fave

Yes you are right Lee, I decided to check it’s origin and if you want to know a bit more just google its name and Westerdale. I have just wrote a brief outline as I think it deserves a mention.
