A closer look at the tiny cones that adorn our fir tree, they start out pink, turn to this colour then turn to brown. The tree doesn’t push them out every year it’s more usual every couple of years, with some producing more than others. This year is a less fruitful year.

What a beautiful cone. I wonder what you’d think of a bit of a vignette so the out of focus cones in foreground wouldn’t draw the eye from the main focus?
