Poppies

Californian poppies, these were really as bright as this photo, such a bright bank of orange, sunshine on a cloudy day.
They self seed and die of altogether in this climate but in warmer climate they survive to flower another year.

Instant FAV because CA poppies are some of my favorite flowers. I used to live in S.Cal as a child and remember fondly hiking in the hills when they were covered in a bright orange carpet of happiness just like these in your photo.
