Old Hiking Boot

When I was in Gimmelwald Switzerland a few years ago I noticed this old boot being used as a planter. It just seemed so appropriate.

a touch of whimsy. a few years ago, i found a restaurant in downtown toronto with its patio decorated by black wellies with plants in them. i don't know if they got the wellies especially for that purpose because they seemed new to me. there were about 25!
