It was great to see the WWII veterans sharing their personal history with other generations at the display of WWII bombers. We should not forget these lessons.
This is a lovely shot, Danette... the POV, down low, is really powerful, to catch this veteran with the historic plane in the background. Beautiful clouds in your blue Florida sky, too.
I was trying to think of a book that should be required reading for all young people and then I thought a movie would be better. My thought would be "Saving Private Ryan." Back to a book, perhaps Brokaw's _The Greatest Generation_. Great storytelling here, Danette.
@rhoing There was a book for sale at the event called "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. It apparently was a best seller. Says, "A World War II story of survival, resilience and redemption."
Nice shot, brings back so many memories. A B 17 if I'm not mistaken. I saw a lot of them in England in the 1940s. Thanks for the memory - and all those brave men who flew in them and paid the ultimate price for our survival.
@roseculhane Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I had thought about cropping out the man. I wish there had been other around that man who was standing. Seemed to make it more "lonely" if only the veteran was there? I wish I had spent more time trying to get some veteran shots. It was harder with all the people around.
Sounds like a really informative and valuable day out.
