So much of my life is wrapped up in food--from market to table. And I can credit my mother for much of my love of preparing and serving good meals. Tonight, my mother cooked leg of lamb with fresh asparagus -- both of my girls lapped it all up, sprinkling fresh lemon juice on their plates and enjoying a wonderful pomegranate and black currant cider.
I took several photos today: one of my new Samsung refrigerator shelf with proof that its claims for spillproofness really do work; one of the Atlanta night skyline with my fancy camera; one of the lights at the Botanical Gardens from the 14th floor of my mother's condo--then I realized the camera's "card" was missing from the camera--alas. The good news is that I TRAVELLED with the camera in tow, planning on taking something for this project and I could pick from one for the day. This photo is from my Samsung S3.
In the end, this photo pleases me most. Sure, you could see proof that olive juice stays on a shelf in a refrigerator, or you could see a nice sunset photo with lights and such, but when can you see kids loving a fabulous meal with their wonderful and pretty darned cool grandmother? It's a no-brainer which pic is the pic of the day!
