This morning, I have been busy at my dining room table catching up on emails and preparing for my new semester class--alas, vacation comes to an end. I have a "to do" list to the right of my laptop that tells me I have to continue battle with the gas company (a "switch nightmare" I call it), have the new furnace installation inspected again (freezing in two rooms....), set up all my online class information, and write a letter.
Then I look up at the window in front of me that looks out into my wooded back yard (wooded mostly because it is neglected) and swooosh, in comes this lovely hawk (not sure about that). I called my daughter to come quickly (she's vegging on the couch with some episode of "Glee") and we stare and admire this bird's ability to turn the head not quite 360 degrees.
A camera! A camera! I have a project that this will fit perfectly! I rush to get my Canon Rebel, then I rush to switch lenses. And here, folks, is my backyard visitor--he's worth the break from a dreary list.
@gerry When I started the project, I encountered two sets of hawks. This one and then about a week or so later, TWO hawks when I was in FL. I am being stalked by hawks and I'm not complaining one bit. Majestical birds. I'm also glad they will eat the rodents nearby!
