Driving home from dropping off Thing 1 at the SAT this a.m., I saw this traffic cone lying down on the sidewalk and thought the red was pretty brilliant in an otherwise bland and ugly area--I was at a distance at the time.
I kept driving, thinking about stopping, but I didn't. After two more lights, I told myself to go back and try to get a cool shot -- it wasn't like I needed to get home right away (although Thing 2 said I took FOREVER and that she needed pancakes right away--geez, you'd think I'd gone to the end of the earth.).
So while Thing 2 made the batter (no, I wasn't going to do it all for her!), I loaded up my photos and here is the wonderful result.
I did use manual focus for this shot because it was hard to get the peep hole precise--still not very clear. Also, I'm SURE I got some weird looks from drivers who saw a lady with a big zoom squatting on the side of the road to get a photo of a traffic cone down! So, here's my my EOTB!
Very neat. And I will remember this when I feel weird taking photos. At least if you have a "real" camera people should have a clue that you're serious... But I doubt they have any clue that you could get results like this!
@mesham If I could stop providing comedy routines for folks while I take shots, I'd be happier. I almost fell over trying to squat down to take this one, and then I can't hold the zoom still enough. I'm sure if I had a tripod, I'd look legit and crazy! I'm just going for crazy these days. :)
