Wayne Nebraska Nightlight by darylo

Wayne Nebraska Nightlight

A long day inside requires a light bulb moment outside, and I achieved that while strolling outside in the cool Nebraska air on the Wayne State campus.

As I strolled along the campus, I tried to capture the oncoming evening with a shot of the lamp posts guiding students from one building to another as they returned to dorms or migrated from one activity to another. Snow appeared in patches and dry grasses lined the path.

In the distance was a very noisy and large bird issuing warnings to the other small birds who shared a branch across from him (I imagined them laughing). My zoom could not adequately capture his menacing presence among the bare branches, so I decided that this photo would work as a signal that I had, indeed, met some form of guide post at the end of the day.
I love it! I love how you got the winding path. Makes me curious about what's down there.

I like the juxtaposition of the sinuous path next to the angular light posts. How did you achieve this color? Filter?

Man-made lamp lights in the midst of roaming paths and in nature's light cycle. Love it, DDD.

@mesham @edhaynes @dstod @virginiasmind @markp @darylo Thanks so much for the comments (the one to myself apparently is my mother IN my account--thanks mom--parading as me!).

@judis I'm using an HP viewer program on my laptop, so it's edited. I don't normally use this program, so it was a challenge. Thanks so much for commenting! Means so much!

Nice photo, the serpentine path adds a pleasing structure to the composition.
