Thrilled to be going for another challenge! Signs, Signs, everywhere are signs. I've been wanting to come out to this property ever since I drove by it a couple of months ago--but I didn't have the motivation to make the drive (it's about 20 minutes from home, but it IS on the way to my new eye Dr.'s office where I ordered glasses today). This area is called Woodstock, and it is still quite rural, but a lot of land developers are quickly buying up plots like these and building all kinds of suburban neighborhoods. So, you'll see some fancy house next to a horse farm, or in this case, a cow farm. The local military outfitter is not far from there too--sheesh, it's a little bit "Deliverance" meets "Stepford Wives" -- UrbanExers would have a field day with this area.
While this area is not my comfort for living (I'm such a city gal), I do love driving these small roads and viewing the landscape. Also, the southern spring is in full regalia: dogwoods, cherry trees, apple trees, wisteria, azaleas (man, those are stunning), oh, all kinds of blooming going on!
The cows' expressions in this photo had me laughing, especially the calf--So, onto more signs tomorrow.
@darylo Have a great time Daryl. We are having the Charter School debate here in New Zealand too. Actually they have just been approved. Very scary stuff. You don't even have to be a trained teacher to work in one!
Very funny! Hey, I'll be in Orlando, too this weekend. If you'll be at EPCOT and see me, say hello! Have fun chaperoning wherever you go. Good idea to look for signs.
@taffy Thanks! @danitech I thought the calf was quite emphatic here! :) @squamloon I shall hold onto "juxtapositionally brilliant" as one of my favorite phrases ever :). This one is really up my alley. Alternate reading of sign (if read in columns) could be VOTE CHARTER, NO SCHOOL! I didn't want to ask the cows for obvious reasons. :)
@danitech LOL. Always trying to spread new vocab one word at a time. You had me worried at first--I'll use the wrong word so many times (I'm famous for using a word I think means what Imean and it is NOT what I mean). Makes for a good laugh! ;)
@amrita21 Honestly, I'm hoping I have time today for a photo. It may just be my daughter's sign on her bedroom door that reads: "Danger, Messy Room Ahead." Thanks for the lovely comments! :) How is the chess master?
:) My younger ones had once put up a sign on their room door.... scrawled over... " Only , under 11 permitted" :) Chess Master is doing good, Got State level and Nationals up this year, so a lot of work. He has just gone to the 6th Grade.... so this is keeping up with one kid's routine.... :) you have gr8 trip and goodluck with the signs.
@steampowered So sorry, missed your comment before...I really need to learn how to do this better! It was a shot I've been dreaming of since I last passed that farm--just needed Jerry's competition to get me back there (and a visit to the eye Dr. at the same time!).
@judis@markp Thanks--sorry, I never looked back and saw these messages @sianipops I'm going back to pick up my glasses when they are ready, so who know, I may have a second shot to take :)
