Huge downpour just after arriving home from lake, and I'm afraid my plans for a moon shot may not materialize tonight for my day's shot. Out I went to catch raindrops and bugs. Caught this fly moving his front appendages together. I wish I could tell you just how small this sucker is! Help all you insect experts. Have no clue what he is. But if you view large, he has a nose too. I just assign human characteristics to bugs--I'm sure Nose is not the right term. What do I know? Next to... NOTHING. :)
Yes...I had very little luck last night as clouds were covering the horizon and I was going after a horizon shot. Maybe tonight but it looks very similar out there so far... Good luck to you!!
@espyetta We must have both been up at the Lake! Your shots today were great! Do you know what kind of fly this is? Now that I'm a "bugger" vs. a "birder," if you know of any specific online resources for me to look up my subjects, I'd greatly appreciate the knowledge!! :)
@taffy Aw, thanks for the encouragement Taffy! They are so surreal--and that's what I love about the lens and the effects it can create, but wow, I have to be so still, I'm afraid I'm going to pass out. And I have to take so many bad shots to get to the good one. :)
Super cool fly macro Daryl - love your hold your breath technique! ; ) Incredible detail and love the title too! : )) Fav - you are the second person tonight that I have realised I am not actually following - the penny drops eventually!!! LOL : ) fav
@rennes You are so sweet! I swear, I can't keep up with anything now--I just love seeing your work--always inspiring. Hey, you have to see today's photo (there's a human face in my "bug" shot). I'm not kidding! :)
