Took a trip to our local recycling center, and I'm always impressed by the number of items they recycle (paint, electronics, paper, glass, tires, plastics). They even take in oil and they will shred your documents for free if you are a resident of the city. My mom and I came here not long ago to shred documents when we worked on getting my office in order (you should have seen the wreck I made).
This is a massive block of compressed canned goods (best viewed large). I used my "nifty fifty" lens and I intentionally kept the shadow. It's taken in RAW, cropped, developed in LR for clarity, color saturation, and highlights.
Great image of a green effort. It makes me think of the recycling center on Beaver Island. That has done more than anything to make me aware of how much trash we generate as we have to carry everything to the recycling center -- there is no trash pickup. And, we have to follow the requirements for how to recycle individual items (e.g., no paper on cans, everything must be clean for recycling, all non-recyclables must be in a green bag which are sold at the grocery store). Your shot makes an interesting abstract but reminds us of who we are as consumers.
