My daughter is still in Japan, so this Japanese Mimosa in my backyard (aka one of the top ten "pest plants" of the state of GA, but I can't part with it) is my happy birthday wish to her having the time of her life in the Land of the Rising Sun. I have been able to use an app called "Viber" and it works for texting and calling and sending photos, all free as long as my daughter has wifi (which she has had at all of the hotels).
I can't wait to hear about her entire adventure in Japan. She'll return in a month too. Wow. Turning 14 is so good I think.
I happen to love Mimosa trees because they remind me of the fun we had playing in one at my grandparents as a child... we'd climb branches out over the creek to gather blooms or seed pods... thankfully no one fell in the creek, which was full of rocks. This is a well composed, nicely focused photo.. and a touch of bokeh is a bonus!
Ah, is that a Japanese Mimosa? I think they're beautiful - we see a few of them around here. Love it. Happy birthday to your daughter. My son is on Friday and me on Saturday! :-) June is a good month!
