Oh, my, goodness. I heard this guy all morning buzzing somewhere in my apple tree, and finally, as I said to myself, "not gonna happen," he buzzed in view, just as I was standing below the tree to see what else I could get (some juvey Cardinals are there these days--sooooo funny, those guys). I'm pretty chuffed to get this one as it's rare to find them alive and visible (well, unless they decide to buzz right by your face and make you scream like a girl!).
I've been wondering where a shot of what we in applets Texas always called a locust. This is beautiful! I remember when I was a kid the sky would occasionally darken and a whole storm of them would fly into town. Crazy creatures. Fav for me, Daryl:-)
