I'm a bit shocked that so much came out in focus with this shot as I was sticking my head out the window to take photographs as we drove from the lakes to the rice terraces in the mountains (on bumpy and winding narrow roads). I had dreams of taking excellent rice terrace photos -- but mine were "ok."
I really wish I had been able to get more shots like this one as it tells the story of all the labor that goes into tending to rice fields. Rice fields are everywhere, high and low. Restaurants are situated right in the middle of them, and kites fly above them. If there is one staple of Bali, it's rice.
So interesting. I really think we forget the time and effort involved in taking some excellent shots. How many times have you returned to the same spot to perfect something or a technique? I'll bet your collection is fabulous. I saw your fountain photo at my son's the other day and it took my breath away!
Very impressive image for a drive-by! I was wondering how you got the low POV! And excellent composition to include so much of the process in rice production!
