I have been teaching five-year-olds for the past three days. Today, I wanted to get them to have an experience to write about and sketch pictures, so I took along this apple peeler (and some extra apples). The kids loved it, then did some neat pencil sketches of the peeler.
@graemestevens Yep it peels and cores, then the apple is like a 'slinky' spring and can be stretched - kids love it and gobble both the apple and the skin 'strings'.
@julzmaioro Think most five year olds would be too big to fit down the slicer slot! Actually - I did mostly enjoy it, and a change from 12-13 year olds.
I remember Suz as a kid taking a piece (probably only a cut) off the end of her finger when she put it in the bean slicer to see what would happen!
Great shot. Think our midday supervisors at school could use one of these, they are always being asked to peel apples for the children on packed lunches
