Mother monarch by dide

Mother monarch

I planted a few swan plants (milkweed) in the vegetable garden, to attract Monarch butterflies. Today, a female was busily laying her eggs (ovipositing) on the leaves. If you look closely, you can see her aiming for the underside of the leaf, and in a few days the egg should hatch.
Ha... well that was very lucky.. I had 2 photo to choose from one just about identical to this and the one I have put up.. Great shot... My MB was very busy laying eggs...

@ethelperry Funny - my good friend (and cousin) @julzmaioro took a very similar shot too - must've been a day for it - have a look at hers, as she has included the egg!
