The guava thief

At this time every year, the local wood pigeon (kereru) visits our orchard, to steal our guava. He is so big and heavy, that many of the tree's branches are now bent towards the ground!
This is fantastic... certainly is the culprit .. snapped in action.. fav

@onewing This is how he eats them - whole - and this isn't as big as I have seen him eat! As he swallows it, you can see his throat feathers ruffle as it goes down!

Your wood pigeons have a much stronger colouring than ours. He is very well camouflaged in that tree.
