Jiggerboard cut

We have spent the day in Rotorua watching the woodchopping. Jesse did very well in the tree event and can be seen here, flanked by a couple of Aussies. You can see Jesse's block falling off, winning him the NZ Tree Felling Championship title. You can imagine his proud parents, bathing in reflected glory! Kate, his girlfriend also chopped well, placing third in her event.

@golftragic Ha - good question! He was just climbing up onto his first jiggerboard, ready to cut notches to put the next two boards in, before cutting the block through at the top. Rather an exacting discipline this one.
