Just before it got really dark, I noticed the light was lovely on the new grass. After the maize harvest, the ryegrass is under sown and the maize stalks rot down to add organic matter to the new pasture. This is an annual ryegrass - vigorous and broad leafed. Won't be too many weeks before the stock can begin grazing it.
Wonderful leading lines of green and straw colour great capture and explanation of the sewing of the new crop while the remains of the previous crop is rotting down --- something to learn every day !
Lucky cattle!
