The new growth by dide

The new growth

Just before it got really dark, I noticed the light was lovely on the new grass. After the maize harvest, the ryegrass is under sown and the maize stalks rot down to add organic matter to the new pasture. This is an annual ryegrass - vigorous and broad leafed. Won't be too many weeks before the stock can begin grazing it.

Fabulous leading lines. Is the ryegrass just for the cattle? We've just been eating rye bread.

@quietpurplehaze Yes - in this case, it is green fodder for the cattle.
