A closer image of the trophy that was awarded for the most improved streamlife. Although the macro invertebrate count has improved, the stream still has a long way to go in terms of restoration. There are even parts of the stream that have been concreted and quite large areas without any shade or natural vegetation.
Fan-bloody-tastic, so good to see such work honoured as it should be. See in today's news the Indonesian govt has refused to declare an evironmentally diverse area of Aceh as protected. It's one of the last places where orangutangs, elephants, tigers and rhinos co-exist in the wild. We do NOT need more darned Palm Oil!!!!
A beautiful award. Although volunteers don't look for awards or rewards, a bit of recognition now and again goes a long way to encourage more endeavour.
@dide Couldn't agree more. I know our powers-that-be aren't nearly as switched-on as they should be (sometimes in total blackout!) but the Indonesians are really bad, think the annual 'haze'.
