This is from the country sports day that we were at yesterday at a tiny coastal village called Marokopa (west of Waitomo). There was woodchopping, sack races, horse events, three legged races, king and queen of the mountain run and the sheep riding. The kids had to be under a certain weight and lasted on average 3 seconds before they rolled off onto the grass! The sheep were then loaded back onto the trailer and taken back to their usual grazing paddock.
What fun for the children we did all the usual activities at our local village fate as children but never the wonderful sport of sheep riding, mind you would have loved to try it, our farm was crops and cereal not much livestock, its a great fun capture Dianne:)
Fantastic action shot! Be nice to crop in to the sheep as much as possible to remove some of the background which is a little distracting, but such a good shot.
@golftragic Hahaha. My kids tried riding our sheep, but not very successfully. No helmets but would've had shoes on with all the bindiis on the farm. They even punctured motor-bike tyres unless you put an extra sleeve inside the tyres.
