We have just arrived home after a great week in the South Island with @julzmaioro and her husband George.
We had a great time exploring and relaxing. We also attended a camera workshop and did a few extra special things. One thing we did was visit The Real Dog Company. What a great few hours learning about the sled dogs and going off on a sled ride through the Naseby Forest. Of course during the summer months, the dogs have to tow a wheeled rig, but in the winter it's the real thing. We will have to return sometime in the colder months to try out the snow version. Here's @julzmaioro and George going along at a great rate of knots!
@golftragic - you would have loved these dogs. I have never met anyone so passionate about the breed or the care of their dogs. We had to be there in the morning before it got too warm to run the dogs. A pleasure to see such lovely animals.
@graemestevens save up and head off there in the wintertime - looks even more exciting and probably makes for even better images. The couple that owned the dogs were so interesting and each had their own teams.
What a fantastic morning this was .. those dogs just enjoy the work ... but were also up for a bit of fun when the fellow on the front right took a dive into the stream... Farmer George had to stand on the break while handler took 'Scott' back in hand...
