Spring gardening

We planted the seed potatoes today. This breed is called 'Rocket' and matures in about 70 days, so should be ready by Christmas. As they hadn't got long sprouts yet, they may take a few days more than the expected 70. They are flavoursome and hold well together when boiled.
Wonderful!

We have the seed potato "Lisetta' but down here, you don't plant them till after Labour weekend. Now you have the exact date and hour that this happened.

How lovely. Potato planting brings back memories of planting with daughters.

Mmmm, nothing like home-grown spuds. I've got four varieties in, planted at different times. The first lot have leaves around half a metre high now. But I don't know Rocket, must check it out to see if it's available here.
