An image from the vaccination centre where we had our Covid booster shots today. NZ is doing ok with the past few days averaging less than 40 community cases per day. More worrying though is that there are around 20-30 cases at the border each day which are mainly omicron.
It worries me too, naturally! One covid positive case escaped out of his Bay of Plenty isolation - caught but going to Dunedin! It only takes one. We are going to get a booster too!
Omicron is very infectious but seems to be much milder in vaccinated people. In England they haven’t locked down again yet, hoping we can learn to live with it which is what we have to do I think. The biggest problem is staffing in all areas, they are hanging on for now.
I am after the third dose and in self-isolation. Unfortunately, our government is afraid of losing the support of anti-vaccines and is doing nothing. And people die.
I think we have been very lucky here in New Zealand so far. However, I do believe it is inevitable that Omicron gets into the community though. Unfortunately!
Love the sign - humour will get us through when stress hits hard. Yes, the virus is hard but suicide is forever. We must support one another during this time.
