The other day we took 50 kids on a class trip to Rocket Ropes near the Auckland International Airport. I was impressed how quickly they learnt how to lock and unlock the carabiner so they could progress from the low ropes to the higher ones. Even the kids who were somewhat timid did really well and came away very chuffed with themselves.
Wow, I thought for a moment it was workmen fixing something electrical on high! On closer inspection, and reading, I realise it's the kids! Phew! Lovely capture.
These rope coarses are a challenge but they teach you so much more than climbing. They are great confidence builders and they are good for teaching team work. Plus they require your complete attention in following instructions.
@phil_howcroft they have a double carabiner system on their harness. At no point are they ever not attached with at least one carabiner. One is always locked on before the other one can be unlocked.
