Oystercatcher by dide

Oystercatcher

We stayed right on the beach front on the weekend and enjoyed watching the birdlife. It was pouring with rain when I took this image and I didn't even have to get wet, as I sat on the van step. This oystercatcher was eating...an oyster of course! It had three half-grown chicks, but they were so well camouflaged that it was almost impossible to see them unless they were moving around.
Beautiful detail, all damp.
