The cropping season has been very strange this year. It has been so wet that the last of the maize is only just being harvested from our place now (nearly mid winter's day). This lot is being harvested for the kernel only and luckily the contractor was able to get onto the paddocks without getting stuck.
Reminds me of a late maize harvest in the fields behind us a couple of years ago (at the end of a wet October) - trailers were tipping over, and tractors being towed out. It took months for the field to recover (some ruts are still visible)
