@kmrtn6 you didn't have to post it twice. and i think for all the untold Megs and Gigs we get to store and show our photos, we should be happy. Especially if we get them for free (ahem).
I like how all of your numbers fit in one line---my % done have moved to a new line. I really can't say that I like the color scheme though. I work as a web dev/des and we just killed all the gray on our sites, so to me this has an old look. :-( I liked the pretty blue a lot.
@Scrivna Can see where you're coming from with that. While the lack of blue is unfamiliar and feels odd to look at (for now), the photos do stand out more which is the whole point of the site. Looking forward to seeing the new mobile version too. It doesn't work on my phone at the moment unfortunately. Will you be letting us know when it changes?
The responses kind of sum up the community here. Every other public website known to man that has changed its look usually gets bombarded with "this is terrible, turn it back" and "what have you done" type responses.
Here (with a few exceptions) its all about the postive.

@Scrivna no, just a nokia slightly better than very basic one. Uses it's own browser (Nokia Browser), but doesn't direct me to the mobile site for some reason.

@beautifulthing Shelly, I am trying to figure out what is, as one replyer here, so "bizzaredly exciting". I'm not trying to be a party pooper, but I have seen more excitement when a baby's diaper gets changed. What is so new besides the top buttons? I am no techie, so maybe I am missing something.
However, if everyone is happy, that's a good thing.
@Scrivna Well done - subtle, looks good, easy to use, feels like 'normal' already so it can't have been too drastic and for me that makes it a good development!

@sdpace - does it matter its in 2 different threads ?!?, the site is great , but re free storage you can get it in a lot of places eg flicker, facebook myspace,....

@Scrivna --- The notification icon is not changing at all. I just happened to check the notifications and have gotten a couple since you've upgraded this. The icon isn't notifying me.
I'm so long in the tooth I remember 2 difefrent versions and with anything, you soon get use to it... Personally, I think it looks fine and happy as long as Ross keeps this site going.. although @Scrivna I would suggest making the speach bubble/comments notification a bit darker if possible...
@Scrivna Ross, unless you already know...either my laptop is on the fritz, or the notifcation "bubble thingy" doesn't work wen a new comment comes in.
Also, I like your comment that about the use of the gray versus blue. Very true, and I am told by Eye Doctors that Blue and Computer screens are not good for the eyes. If this is the case, kudos!
(Probably why the Microsoft problem is called "the Blue Screen of death"
@gailwf Yep, Gail...I saw the buttons seemed more square or something when I logged on...but I have blue at the top...no bright colors at all. Not sure what is up.

How about the notification icon going the same green as the 365 when there's something new to read so it really stands out? Otherwise, I really like the new look. @Scrivna
@ scrivna I really like the new layout..the only thing missing is a place where you can see at a glance where the 365er is from..now that would help tremendously.
@Scrivna I love how dashboard goes back to the spot I was looking at, after I left to view & make a comment. No more endless scrolling or opening separate tabs, excellent improvement!

Not sure if I like it or not but then it doesn't really matter what I think anyway because I'm here for the photos, people and advice not the look.
One thing though is I'm not sure if my notification bubble isn't working or if the new colour difference is too subtle for my poor old eyes. @scrivna
i'm with all those that have mentioned the notification bubble...mine doesn't really change color...and when it does, it's a subtle change...i liked how it used to be black, very noticeable that there was a notification...
but i am still enjoying the new layout

I remember there being two versions before this, as well. I think you're right about the "Notifications" bubble - I only just realised that you replied to me here, and that was two days ago! Otherwise, I think it's good.
@jools I only saw you had notified me when I got back on this discussion to see what others had added. I think the notification bubble does change colour but only ever so slightly, not enough for me to even notice!
i love the new layout! i think its a good change and it makes the page feel fresher (if that is a word haha) and its easier to use and the colours are much better i think :) xo
Did it change?! LOL, the only thing I've noticed is that the notification bubbles don't turn black to alert me any more! They did a couple days ago. :(

I have now noticed that it goes from a dark grey to an ever-so-slightly lighter grey, when I have Notifications. (Which is all the time, y'know, 'cause I'm super popular.) But there's not really enough difference between the two greys for it to stand out at you. You have to peer at it to discern whether it's the light one of the dark one, and what that means.

There are too many pictures; I would've preferred an entirely text-based format for 365.
However, if everyone is happy, that's a good thing.

one important feature in the future could be 'privacy settings' rather than private messaging. But for now, we are really enjoying the new layout!

I'm using Firefox on a MacBook Pro with OS X Lion, and as @kjarn says, the "Notifications" logo is just grey all the time.
Otherwise no complaints about the new layout, it's very minimalistic which I like :)
