Paul Myers (@webfoot) just completed a year of hosting this thread, and I would like to thank him for his dedication! I'll try to pick up where he left off.
So, in following tradition, what's your favorite B&W photo over the past week, between August 25 and August 31?
Now, here's the new twist (new host, new rules?) ... Because I personally didn't take a decent b&w photo this week (hosting this thread will make me improve!), I'm going to suggest that you are welcome to post one of your own B&W photos, or a B&W photo of someone else this week, which ranks as your favorite B&W. I'm not trying to step on Lyn's toes (@lyno) by overlapping the "favorite fav" discussion, but I think by limiting it to B&W, it'll be o.k. (And, I'm sure if you disagree I will hear from y'all!)
You can post your favorite B&W photo by copying and pasting the code from the 'Share' box that's in your photo page, together with info on when it was taken. Part of the challenge is only selecting ONE picture, so no cheating!
So, I'm going to get us started with this quirky & fun B&W by Rich @rich57
One of the reasons I hosted that B&W thread was to push me to do B&W. I ended up with three shots this week, but this one wins, mainly because it's his birthday today. My baby boy is now 17 years old and just started his senior year in high school.
I have chosen this one as I'm really not comfortable doing stranger nor street photography! We had a festival in the village and I founnd this elderly gentleman walking down the road totally oblivious to all that was going on around him!
Thanks for taking over Robyn!
I dont have many B&W but am going to make sure that I think about it more :)
the only one in monochrome by me this week
Last night's "Blue Moon" which I had to shoot in B&W due to a smokey orange haze in the air caused by all of the forest fires around here.
@pocketmouse produced this and it is fabulous
