One of my favorite photography quotes I've been "living by" this entire project is "Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop" -Ansel Adams
This 365 is coming to a close. Alot of 365ers are in the home stretch. Can you say you've got a good crop? Do you have 12 significant photographs?
I have a handful I like but maybe 2-4 that are "significant" in the fact that someone else may want them on their wall. I would def like to share them.....
I won't overload you with a huge list, but I think I can come up with 12 that I'm more than happy with. Whether or not anyone else thinks so too is a different story, but that's neither here nor there:)
well, I just finished my 1st year just a couple weeks back and looking through them, there are some I am very proud of (mostly towards the end of my project). I don't want to upload all 12 on here... but here are a few favs.
I've definitely got 12 I'm proud of for one reason or another, but like others have said whether they'd agree is another matter!
Here's a few and the reasons why I'm proud of them:
This one is of a machine we use at work; it took a lot of editing to make it look like this, and has since been used by work and the manufacturer in some advertising!
This because it's a 'bucket list' one:
This because it takes me straight back to the moment I took it:
Finally, this one... well, just read the caption under the pic itself.
I can probably pick 12 that mark significant days in our lives rather than 12 that are photos I think anyone else would want to have on their wall.
But I love this idea and am thinking I will face 2012 and my 3rd round of 365 with this target in mind...thanks for sharing : )
For me, there are two different meanings for significant. There are some shots that aren't my best photos but represent significant moments in the year. Then there are shots that I am really happy with because it is something new I learned photographically.
This shot is significant because I am a very private person, and this is me really exposing my emotions.
This is not my best photo but it is significant because it was the morning after we had to take my son to the hospital because he had a seizure.
I just love this photo. It is not how you normally see the beach or lifeguards, and for me, it is the color and composition that make this photo interesting.
Lissa, very interesting post. I realized before I started my project, I was never happy with my photos. Always so self-critical about my work. Now when I look through my project, I am pleased with almost all my photos. This project has helped my self-confidence, and to appreciate my view of life through my photos. I have so many I like now, its hard to pick. Here are a few of my favs.

Just going through to try and pick was eye-opening! I have had an incredibly beautiful year and have grown tremendously! =D I can't believe year 2 is almost over!
I’m still a rookie at this photography stuff, but I’ve had a blast learning how to use my first DSLR this year. My photographs have improved although they are not the caliber of so many on here. Here are a few of my favorites.
what a brilliant idea for a thread :) there's so many amazing ones posted, can't wait to go have a browse!
rudy in the clover (this is one of my favourite pics ever. i was with this boy for 9 months and i still love that smile)
"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for thou art with me" this one was the first pic that i really thought "wow" about and i think its still probably the technically best picture in my whole project!
I have quite a few really good photos this year: Here are some of my favorites that I think captured the year's essence so far: I think my nature shots (in general) seem to turn out the best.

So where is it?
HA! Oh that just made my night.
And this one more recently
This was the first one I liked - way back in April when I really had no clue what I was doing:
This one I liked because the perfect opportunity just presented itself to me and thanx to the project I had my camera with me to capture it:
And this one I liked because the motif had been on my bucket list forever and I thought I would never be able to find it:
As 3 seems the optimum number so be it, here are my 3 favish at the moment :)
Weirdly they are all from this month as well!!??!!
Vernal Fall, Yosemite
I'm petrified of heights, so getting this shot was quite a feat for me.
