New Challenge - Composite # 2 - Full Moon

February 26th, 2018
THANKS TO ROSE FOR ORGANSING THIS CHALLENGE AND TO THOSE OF YOU WHO VOTED FOR MY COMPOSITE USING @MGIFFORD TREE.

Definition of composite photograph: a photograph made by combining several distinct photographs either made one over another on the same plate or made on one print from a number of negatives.

The idea behind the challenge is to get as creative as possible. There is a ton of YouTube tutorials and the internet is a great source for stock images .

This is a link to a site that has access to 135 tutorials. So if your stuck for an idea, have a look.

If your new to composite photography, or if you keen to give it a go, then this competition is for you. If you have an idea, but not sure how to execute it, then just drop a line on this thread, and I'm sure there will be someone who will able to help.

With this months full moon just about to hit us, I thought that we could have a bit of fun with the full moon. So get outside, snap the moon and get as creative with it as possible. If the weather won't allow it then just grab a moon shot from your archives. I'm sure we all have 1 or 10 in there somewhere. 😊

You must have at least one of your own photos, and you are able to make use of stock images to supplement what you already have.

Hi Debbie @deborah63 can I ask please does the one shot have to be of the full moon that is due? I am thinking if it is cloudy here I have no chance of getting a shot of it.

Also, does the one shot of our own have to be taken during this week (or within a specified time period) or can we create a composite using a pic that was taken at any time... ?

Also what is the closing date please?

@stephanies I'm thinking that this challenge is more about learning composition skills rather than photograpic skills, so if you have a photo in your archive that you want to use, then go for it.

Closing date is 8th March.

Have fun.

hi Debbie... i did one, but i'm not sure it technically qualifies as a composite so please feel free to ignore it if you feel it doesn't... https://365project.org/northy/365/2018-02-28

@northy Most definitely qualifies Northy. You don't have to do a complicated composition and it's a perfect example of how ' sometimes less is more'.

@northy Definitely qualifies :)

I always love playing with the moon so I was very excited about this composite's theme! Who knew a hurricane would envelope my area the day before the full moon! I hope this qualifies anyway- it is a current moon shot, just not quite as full as I'd hoped it to be.
